RECRUITING SITES
I have compiled a list of websites that offshore companies list their vacancies on. These sites are a good source of information and gives you a good idea of what jobs are being sourced for at the time. I have put my own thoughts next to the websites link, but please bear in mind it is my own thoughts and is no way detrimental to the content or owners of the sites.
RIGG ACCESS One of the best websites out there. Always my first point of call to see what jobs are being advertised. The site has just been updated and gives you plenty of information on almost every aspect of offshore job placement. As mentioned plenty of other info on companies who offer training in offshore disciplies with contact addresses. Other items on the site are a Forum, for you to discuss the finner points of the industry. Articles on Rope Access and IRATA bulletins. Articles on First Aid. Carrer Advice. Safety articles. You can even load your personal details into the site and upload your CV for other companies to see. There is a jobs section that is constantly updated and gives you the availablilty to apply for jobs on the site, as long as you have registered with them first, which is very easy to do and doesnt take long.
NDT CABIN NDT Cabin is a site dedicated to the world of Non Destructive Testing. If you are planning to go down this route then this is the site for you. The site has plenty of links to companies that offer this type of training. The site offers plenty of Project Reviews and if you register with them you will recieve emails on the latest information to do with the industry. It has a comprehensive job section where you can apply for the jobs online and has a members area. This site has plenty of info on not just the offshore industry but also Rail - Marine - Nuclear - and Aerospace disciplines all linked to NDT. There is also a link to some major offshore operators who specialise in doing NDT in the offshore environment.
MATCHTECH A comprehensive website that covers a vast arena of jobs, not only in the offshore industry but many others as well. Seems to cater for the upper end of the spectrum of the offshore industry. But there are plenty of jobs advertised that will hopefully cater for your needs. Even if you are not that interested in the offshore side of things, there are other sections that should fall into the catogory of your job placement area. There is also a members area within the site and after looking at the site for a while i noticed that they are advertising well over 3000 jobs, almost all the jobs have a the salary that that job offers next to it, which in my mind is a very good thing. Overall a very good site which offers numerous vacancies in a variety of disciplines.
OILCAREERS Just had a look at their website on the jobs section and typed in Offshore. About 300 current job vacancies were posted. These range from UK to overseas and the variety of jobs which is on their site is outstanding. Their is some salary information on some of the vacancies and even some information on a day rate basis on some of the adds. I have put a hyperlink on the heading, this should take you directly to their vacancies page with Offshore vacancies. Their search information is top notch, so put in what you are interested in, for instance 'Rigger' or 'Electrician' and see what comes up. Plenty of vacancies listed some even willing to train you for the position, very impressed with the site.
OILEXEC Global online recruitement for the oil and gas industry - Thats what it says on their heading so thought I would include it here. Quite a comprehensive site but bear in mind it's a recruitement agency so is geared on those lines. If you click on the heading at the beginning this will take you to their site, click on Search for a job and the jobs search will appear. Type in your preferances, there is over 300 jobs listed here, a lot based overseas or international as its mentioned. Plenty of job vacancies for every taste here, and if your looking for that job internationally, then have a look here. Plenty of advice for applicants with an FAQ section to assist. Looks a very professional site with plenty of advice for people who want to submit their CV's and apply for the vacancies which they have to offer. Would recommend a look at their website and see what they can offer you.
