This is what it is: IRATA the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association was formed in the late 1980's, as the result of an initiative by a number of leading companies involved in industrial rope access techniques, to provide a safe working environment for the industry. Loads of information on their site, news safety notices, news training courses and even a situations vacant section. There are various publications available and a members log in area. If you are looking at going down this route there is a meetings section which gives you dates and venues where the latest meetings will be taking place. For people new to roped access this is the site for you, as i have mentioned a few times a lot of companies will look on the Irata qualification as a major bonus if you apply for a vacancy and you already have the certification.
